It seems almost too simple, but the fastest way to lose weight is to use some common sense and good judgment in your eating and lifestyle choices.

When some people decide they need to lose weight fast, the first thing that they do is try to skip meals. Missing meals, particularly breakfast, is one of the worst things you can do when trying to shed pounds. If you miss the first meal of the day, you will feel ravenous for the rest of the day and will go to your comfort food (or foods!) to satisfy your hunger—bad mistake. A solid, healthy breakfast will actually help you keep your diet on the right path.

The next thing is to consider what a realistic expectation is. Can you lose 10 pounds in one week? Of course not and you shouldn’t try. Experts recommend that you should lose no more than 3 pounds a week even when on the fast track to weight loss.

Exercise is critical in your quest in finding the fastest way to lose weight. Even simply taking a 20 to 30 minute walk every day will help to burn calories and to tone your muscles.

Making sure that the calories you take in are from healthy foods is another important factor. Incorporating more fruits, veggies, whole grains, fat-free selections of dairy products, and lean meats, poultry, and fish while eating less saturated fats, trans fats, salt, and sugars is very important when you are going for weight loss.

When determined to find the fastest way to lose weight it is important to remember that calories do count so watch your portions. Although getting the proper amount of proteins, carbs, and yes—even fats, is essential to a healthy diet, cutting back on the amount of calories you have been consuming will surely help you drop those unwanted pounds.
