How can I lose weight without losing muscle?

Can you answer spewk’s question about Weight Loss?:

I feel like I should lose weight, but I am not sure how to do this without losing muscle. I weigh 148 pounds and am 5′8. I run at least eight miles a day and excercise twice a day. I also eat very healthy (am a vegetarian), but don’t eat very much anyway.

Weight Loss Feedback: you have to cut down on the cardio a little bit.. and you have to eat alot more protein after you exercise, and throughtout your day, you also have to eat more good carbs that will give u more sufficent energy so u do not cut into your muscle storage..

you need i would say 150 - 170 grams of protein a day.. that would be enough to ensure you are not going to lose muscle
usualy one gram of protein per pound is all u need… but since u are doing so much running.. you need more..

you should also lift heavy weights at the gym to maximize muscle density..

Weight Loss Feedback: You should take into account muscle that you already have. You may not need to lose weight. Check your BMI, and if that’s high, then incorporate more cardio with equal strength training.
